Starless are a modern beat combination from Swindon, England (for you Americans, that's  the odd-shaped little island to the left of Europe). Before anyone asks, we don't know anyone from XTC, although we have seen Andy Partridge walking back from the chip shop a couple of times. We're currently a four-piece (guitar, bass, keys vox programming, drums), although there have been more and indeed less of us in the band before now. See the cast of thousands to see what we mean.

This is the tricky bit where we have to say what we sound like. Well, we sound like Starless, but we won't get away with that will we?..well, now you can find out on the 'hear us' page, so we don't have to do the bit where we go, err, we're a bit rock and a bit progressive and a bit pop and a bit indie, sort of thing. You'll find influences as diverse as King Crimson Peter Hammill The Smiths Todd Rundgren Pink Floyd Adrian Borland New Order and various others lurking in there, but that's not to say that we sound like any of them or that if you like any of them that you'll like us, or vice versa. We just do what we like doing ('Starless change musical styles with ease', to quote from a review). In fact, hang it all, we Just do Swag™.

Starless have attracted, ahem, major record company interest (sadly, they went bust just when it was getting exciting), and have come last in every 'Battle of the Bands' competition they've entered. Still, ne'er mind, eh?
